As a community church we want to be able to support and journey with people in all areas of their lives, and as a member of the Church of England we are pleased to be able to offer baptism, marriage and funeral services to those in our parish.

If you live in the parish of St Peter’s Battersea, and are getting married elsewhere you may need us to call your banns. Please fill in this banns application form and send it back to us.

To check which parish you live in, click here and enter your postcode in the box titled Find Your Local Church and make contact with the church office or vicar there.

Weddings

Would you like to get married at our church?

If you would like to get married at St Peter's then do let us know. We will arrange a time for you to have an initial chat with our vicar, Patrick, and we can then move on to looking at dates, practicalities and paperwork. It is worth noting at this stage that it is normal practice for at least one of the couple to have a connection to the church where they wish to get married. For example:

  • Do you live in our parish?

  • Are you a member of St Peter’s?

  • Do you have some other connection to St Peter’s such as your parents were married here or you were baptised here?

Do get in touch if you have any questions.

Baptisms

Would you like to arrange a baptism?

Baptism is a response to God's love - a desire and a commitment to respond to God's call to follow Jesus. It is also a celebration, a time to come together with family and friends; remembering that you are loved by God, are part of a wider community and have a place with God's people.

In the baptism of young children, parents thank God for the gift of life, make a decision to start their child on a journey of faith and ask for the Church’s support.

At St Peter's we baptise both adults and children, and people often choose to dedicate babies. If this is something you are interested in then do get in touch with us, and we will arrange for someone to contact you to discuss further.

Funerals

Would you like to arrange a funeral?

A funeral marks the close of a human life on earth. It is the opportunity for friends and family to express their grief, to give thanks for the life which has now completed its journey in this world.

Our clergy are available to take services of cremation or burial, and our new building will be able to be used for funeral services.

Funerals are normally arranged with the Church via your funeral director, but do get in touch if you have any queries or would like to talk to someone about your loss.
